Week 8 Reading Reflection

1. The part that was most enlightening was the section that discussed debt financing.  I never really understood the differences in making loans and how debt financing was involved.

2. The section about how companies receive loans or investments/offerings was a bit confusing to me.  I wasn't sure which way is best?

3. Do you have a bank that you would recommend when it comes to assisting entrepreneurs in financial decisions? With a failing business, how long does it take them to pay off debts or how does this work?

4. I really do not have any arguments or points to make.  Finances, loans, and debts are still a little confusing to me.

Half-Way Reflection

1.  From this class I would say I have developed more organizational skills and my memorization of speeches has improved.  This class is very easy to fall behind in, and I've had to set days specifically for working on this course.

2. Every time I have to interview customers I cringe inside, the last set of interviews was the worst!  I get so nervous about people's potential responses or if they'll get angry at me for bothering them.  I pulled through and I was able to push aside these thoughts by following a motto I made up back in my cross-country days,  "The faster you go the faster you'll get this over with it" I figured that if I completed the interviews in one day the less I'll have to worry and freight about it.
I would say that these past two months I've enjoyed writing more than I have ever before.  I love sharing my stories, thoughts, and opinions with my fellow classmates.  Having a blog has made this class very enjoyable and less stressful, its almost like my creative outlet on busy days.

3. Tips to Students
  • Stay ahead of the game and work on assignments before they are due.  Keep a calendar that is in sight.  For instance you can get a little white board calendar and put it up on your wall.  This way you have an idea of what's going on for the week and to prepare yourself.
  • Make your blog page your own!  Change the design of your page to match your personality, have fun with it.  This will encourage you with assignments and you'll find that your blog represents you and your ideas. By doing this you'll feel less stressed about the course and you'll come to enjoy the work!
