Idea Napkin No. 2

1. Who are You?

  • Bridget Lanier
  • Photography and drawing
  • Sister
  • Godmother
  • A Gator
  • I love animals and nature

2. What are you offering to customers?

The Food Pack

  • Pack contains all the ingredients to cook a meal along with easy to follow steps
    • they can save the recipes for the future or watch the "How To" video online
  • Encourages students to eat healthier, while teaching them how to cook
  • Introduce people to other culture's foods
  • Contains quality ingredients
  • Save time on finding groceries
  • Healthier option than buying fast food

3. Who am I Offering the Product To?

  • The Food Pack is designed with college students in mind, but anybody can use it
  • Students ages 17-30
    • young to old really
  • Those who have access to a kitchen
  • Anyone who struggles with cooking or who wants to learn new recipes/expand their culinary experience
  • Those who are in a rush or do not want to buy separate ingredients
  • Perfect for people with strict budgets

4. Why do They Care?

  • Now a days students rely on foods that are easy to make or are convenient.  Sometimes people would rather purchase McDonald's for dinner four nights a week rather than cook their own grilled chicken sandwich at home. After a while, this becomes expensive and is downright unhealthy.  It's alright to have fast food every once in a while, but not everyday.
  • Today many of us struggle in the kitchen, we don't have confidence when it comes to cooking. Rather than trying to cook something new we stick to what we know.  Mac and Cheese, spaghetti, or PB&J.
  • The Food Pack will help all of those that deal with these situations.  It provides the student with  access to all ingredients needed, encouraging them to learn new recipes, all while developing and expanding their culinary skills.

5. What are your Core Competencies?

  • The Food Pack is the only product that I know of that teaches people how to cook meals with ingredients provided for them.
  • It will have a positive effect on customers for the rest of their lives.

I believe all of my elements go along with one-another except for the first part.  I'm still struggling with connecting with my product.  Rather than being the owner or entrepreneur of this product I still feel like a consumer.  I came up with The Food Pack because I am a terrible cook and I would love to have access to  a product like this.
I suppose I consider myself to be the one who comes up with ideas, but when it comes to making it happen I struggle.  I appreciated the feedback from the last idea napkin.  They encouraged me to draw out my product.  It's a little difficult though, because for the most part I received complements on my work and how they agreed with my idea.  I didn't get any feedback as far as how I could take my product to the next level.  I'm not sure what else to do, and I'm struggling with how to improve the Food Pack and connect more with my product.

  1. I really like your idea because I know that there are days when I'm so exhausted from work that I'd rather heat up a Amy's organic pasta bowl or burrito and call it a night. Granted I don't eat fast food all that often, I should be eating better than I am and I really think your product would work. I like the idea of this because it gives you a wider variety of meal options instead of just eating the same thing all the time. For my venture, I also went along the food path. Growing up my parents owned a restaurant so my idea was to have a food truck located near campus to serve fast, healthy food options to students! If you want to check out what I did, the link to my page is here: http://slollis93.blogspot.ie/2016/03/week-9-napkin-idea-2.html Overall great idea, and I hope you'll be able to work out the connection with you to your product! :)

  2. I believe that this is a very good idea and would be highly used by a lot of college students. Most of the time they don't have time to actually cook. This would be very helpful to college students. I think you did a really good job as well at incorporating your feedback from your idea napkin before. I had a little bit of problems incorporating mine, so I think you did well. You can view my blog post at: http://saraheverts.blogspot.com/2016/03/idea-napkin-no-2.html
